The Schockaert family

I only got involved in things to do with disability when Danielle started attending Wewak Special School when she was twelve. When she was younger we didn't know anything about it. To us she looked like a normal kid. But she never played with the other children. She only played alongside them. Then the kindergarten tachers said that was funny. We were living in South Australia then. When the people came from Adelaide to test the children, they gave Danielle one test that was for older children and she passed it quite well. In a way, they couldn't understand that she did so well in this test which even older children had difficulty with. They gave her all the tests that could be done before Primary School and she didn't have any trouble doing them. But when she got older something must have happened.
